Enjoy the Sunday best

FALL FEST SUNDAY: The annual Waterford Fall Festival is Sunday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with activities held in Whitford and Ten Club parks.

      The day’s events include an arts and crafts fair, lots of kids’ activities (wristbands are $10 each; $5 for ages 2 and younger), chili cook-off, canoe rides ($3), live music, free trolley rides between the parks and downtown businesses that are open, pumpkin pie eating contest and the popular Waterford Lions Club Chicken Barbecue, serving from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Lioness bake sale.

CROP WALK: St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, hosts the 2013 Crop Walk, starting at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 29, in the church parking lot.

      Walkers from around the area will raise money to stop hunger, walking distances of one, three and five miles. Donations of non-perishable food items welcome.
