Deputies arrest man who fired shot at Kansasville home

A 34-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly firing at least one shot at a home in Kansasville.

Racine County sheriff’s deputies responded to the residence at 2:56 a.m., according to a department press release, after dispatchers received a 911 call during which they could hear a woman in the background yelling, “You’re shooting at me!”

The woman who called deputies reported seeing a muzzle flash and hearing a shot fly past her. She told deputies the suspect, who reportedly had guns in the residence, ran into the home without any clothes.  She said she was in the home with her four children and the suspect’s parents.

When deputies arrived, they found the driveway to the residence barricaded with two cars that had their tires flattened, the release said. Officials used a loud speaker to order the suspect out of the home. He complied and was arrested without incident.

According to deputies, a search of the residence yielded a semiautomatic handgun, two loaded magazines for the gun, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, an open knife, and valve stems from several vehicles that had flattened tires.

Authorities believe alcohol and drugs may be a factor in the incident.

The suspect, who has not been named, was transported to the Racine County Jail where he was being held under consideration of the following charges: first-degree attempted reckless homicide; second-degree reckless endangering safety; endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon while intoxicated; possession of marijuana (as a repeat drug offender); possession of drug paraphernalia; three counts of criminal damage to property; and disorderly conduct.

The suspect was expected to make his initial appearance in court Monday.
