EDNA J. JOHNSON

Edna Jannette ‘Jan’ Johnson, 76, Union Grove, died March 14, 2014, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was born Dec. 24, 1937, to the late Frank and Gertrude (McKillip) Gross in Darlington. Her early life was spent in Darlington where she graduated from Darlington High School in 1956.

On Feb. 8, 1958, she married LeRoy Johnson. Following marriage they resided in Darlington, moved to Yorkville in 1968 and then to Union Grove in 1975. After 55 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2014. She retired from Nestles in 2005, but had worked there for more than 30 years in various jobs and departments. She loved her family and was very proud of them. She had a very special bond and close relationship with her brother, sisters, nieces and nephews. They all enjoyed her awesome sense of humor. She was a huge Packer fan and enjoyed other hobbies; painting, sewing, collecting and watching hummingbirds.

Survivors include her children, Brenda (Mike) Brand, Crivitz, Kristi (Rick) Wahlen, Union Grove, Rory (Tina) Johnson, Yorkville, Cory (Kim) Johnson, Union Grove; daughter-in-law, Cindy Johnson, Union Grove; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Shirley (Donald) Bennett, Connie Kilcoyne, Robert (Laura) Gross; brothers-in-law, Jack (Peggy) Johnson and Gaylord (Janet) Johnson; sisters-in-law, Joyce Demuth and Mildred Thompson; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her son, Lee; brothers-in-law, Eugene Thompson, Larry Kilcoyne, James Demuth and Ronald Johnson.

A Time of Remembrance is March 20, at 7 p.m., at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home, 908 11th Ave., Union Grove. Visitation is Thursday, March 20, from 4:30-6:30 p.m., and Friday, March 21, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
