Brian L. Mahoney, 69, of Sharon, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn. He was born Oct. 26, 1944, at Elkhorn, to the late John and Veronica (Friemoth) Mahoney.
He married Diane Miles on March 3, 1973, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Burlington.
He was employed as a foreman at the Chrysler Corporation in Belvidere, Ill., retiring in 2000 after 33 1/2 years.
He served his community, first as a member of the Lyons Fire Department and later a member of the Sharon Fire Department where he was past assistant fire chief. He was also involved in the Sharon Drift Skipper Snowmobile Club and the WALCO Camping Club.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughter, Kelley J. (Craig) McKenzie, Milwaukee; son, Daniel J. (girlfriend Samantha Beierle), Walworth; granddaughters, Charlize and Cianna McKenzie; brothers, Michael (Karen), Hazel Green, and Gerald, St. Peter’s, Mo.; and his father’s wife Elna Mahoney, Burlington.
Services are April 4, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Tom McKenna, officiating. Toynton Funeral Home, Sharon, assisted the family.
