A 38-year-old Kansasville man faces multiple drug charges stemming from a raid conducted last year at his home by Racine County Sheriff’s Department Metro Drug Unit agents.

Joseph V. Lena was arraigned Nov. 23 in Racine County Circuit Court, at which time a plea of not guilty was entered for him.

He is next scheduled to be in court for a status conference on Jan. 24.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Racine County Circuit Court:

Metro Drug Unit agents executed a search warrant at Lena’s home at 25211 Minnetonka Drive, Kansasville, on Nov. 5, 2010.

Agents reported finding large amounts of marijuana in various rooms of the residence, along with drug paraphernalia such as pipes, scales and plant-grooming tools with residue that tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinols (THC, the active chemical in marijuana).

Lena is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver THC; felony maintaining a drug trafficking place; and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. All charges include sentencing enhancements as a repeat offender.

If convicted of all charges, Lena faces a maximum of 15 years, 7 months in prison; $20,500 in fines; or both.
