Waterford

River Market grand opening is Saturday

Absolutely Waterford celebrates its premier year of hosting the Waterford River Market with a grand opening on Saturday, June 7.

Scheduled from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the grand opening will showcase local producers and their goods.

The event includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local dignitaries, live music, samples from Kerri’s Custom Cakes, and more.

Local acoustic guitarist Savana Schrader will be the featured performer.

The market includes local farm and horticultural products, locally-produced specialty foods, local arts and handicrafts, and other goods.

According to River Market Chairman Michael Hobach, hosting the weekly farmers market is in line with Absolutely Waterford’s mission of attracting people to Waterford’s historic downtown and instilling community pride while promoting and supporting locally-produced items.

The season officially kicked off May 24 and continues every Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through October 11.

The market is located in the scenic Village Hall Park along the banks of the Fox River. New vendors are always welcome to join. Booth space is available at $15 for daily use. Rates remain low thanks to the generous support of Runzheimer Foundation and Friends of Martini Mo’z.
