Police chief says they were likely dumped in field

Town of Geneva police are investigating the discovery of two bodies in separate suitcases along North Como Road Thursday afternoon.

Police made the gruesome discovery about 3 p.m. after a citizen reported seeing the two suitcases alongside the road, according to a press release issued by Town of Geneva Police Chief Steven Hurley Friday morning.

A highway department employee who was mowing grass in the area first spotted the suitcases in tall grass and moved them to the side of the road to finish mowing, the release said.

According to Hurley, town residents “can rest assured that this is an isolated incident and the crime did not occur where the bodies were located.”

Autopsies on both bodies were scheduled for Friday at the Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s office.

Geneva Police are working with other law enforcement agencies to review missing person reports.

“We are hoping to learn additional information following the autopsy that will assist in identifying the individual,” the release said.

Town of Geneva Police are being assisted in the investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Department.

Anyone with additional information is asked to call Town of Geneva police at (262) 248-9926.
