MARGARET R. HAUS

Easter Lily      Margaret R. Haus, 87, Burlington, died June 27, 2014, at Burlington Rehab and Care Center. She was born Jan. 13, 1927, on a farm, on Crossway Road in Burlington, to the late Emil and Annie (Volbrecht) Rubach.

She graduated from Burlington High School and Union Grove Teacher’s College. She taught at High Street Grade School and Rochester Grade School.

On June 24, 1950, she married the love of her life, Norden Haus, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Burlington. Following their marriage they made their home in Rochester. She worked with her husband in their business, Marden Electronics, in Burlington, until it was sold. He died May 24, 1990.

She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Burlington, a former member of the church choir and OWLS. She enjoyed music, sports, and time spent in northern Wisconsin.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law: Vivian Rubach and Bernice Rubach; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her in-laws; brothers, Ed (Idella) Rubach, Walt Rubach and Milton Rubach.

The family has suggests memorials be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.

Margaret’s family would like to thank Dr. Paul Webber, the pastors of St. John’s Lutheran Church and her friends for their care and compassion.

Funeral services are Thursday July 3, at 2 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, with the Rev. Daniel Waldschmidt officiating. Burial will follow in Rochester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on July 3 from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home.
