ROBERT M. PHILLIPS

Easter Lily      Robert M. Phillips, 82, Burlington, died July 8, 2014, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Jan. 20, 1932, in Traverse City, Mich., to the late Richard and Helen (Haskel) Phillips. He moved to Burlington in 1951 where he graduated from Burlington High School.

He married Carole Pritchard on June 19, 1954. Following marriage they lived in Burlington where they raised their family.

His true passion in life was farming. He also worked at Nestles, J.W. Peters, Mertens Service Station, LCL Bulk Transit and Albert Trostel Packing. He served on several committees for Country Estates in Lyons. He enjoyed mowing lawns and doing snow removal for several of the residents in the community.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Sherry (Tom) Janke, Linda (Randy) Schroeder, Deb (Mike) French, Nancy Belau, Barbara (Gye) An, Kathy (Andy) Dorn; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Ben Phillips and Richard Phillips; a sister, Evelyn Cobb; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by four siblings; two sons-in-law, and a granddaughter.

He was a very giving and compassionate person who cared about others. He willed his body to medical research at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Haider and his staff, the nurses at Burlington Hospital, the Aurora VNA Hospice staff and Pastor Ebenezer for all their care, compassion and concern.

Visitation is Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. until time of services at noon at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. The Rev. Pastor Ebenezer Insor will officiate.
