MARY F. KURER

Easter Lily      Mary Frances Meyer Kurer, 55, Waterford, died Aug. 29, 2014. She was born in Burlington on April 4, 1959, to Harold and Lucille Meyer. She graduated from Waterford Union High School and was a foreign exchange student in Brazil following her senior year. After high school she trained to be a Travel Agent and also went to Gateway Technical College where she worked on a marketing degree.

She married Ronald J. Kurer at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Waterford, on July 5, 1986. They raised four children. She worked for Southern Wisconsin Center from 1977 until 1993 as a Resident Care Technician. She was a lifetime member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and she loved to travel, especially to Florida and Brazil. She will be missed by all of her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband; children, Hannah (Alexei) Strelchenko, Windsor Wis., Melissa (forever son-in-law Jim Oleson), Madison, Sarah, Waterford; one grandchild on the way; her mother; mother-in law, Esther Kurer, Hancock, Wis.; special friend Cindy (Chuck) Giammo; sister, Margaret Meyer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dennis (Germaine Thomas) Kurer, Kathy (Marc) Addis, Darleen (Ken) Baas, Susie (Gary) Kasch, Joyce (Howard) Rohda, Jim (Sue) Kurer, John (Patty) Kurer; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father; son, Joshua; father-in-law, Clarence Kurer; grandparents, Richard (Margaret) Huening, and Arthur (Anne) Meyer; and grandma, Fannie Meyer.

Visitation is Thursday, Sept. 4, from 9 to 10:45 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11 a.m., at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery following services. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, is serving the family.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the family so they may be distributed to all of Mary’s favorite charities.

The family wishes to send a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the doctors, nurses and staff at D.N. Greenwald and Waukesha Memorial Oncology departments for their special care of Mary and also to the nurses and staff at Seasons Hospice in Waukesha for their kind and considerate care.
