BARBARA A. LAHODIK

Easter Lily      Barbara A. Lahodik, 77, Burlington, late of Genoa City, died Sept. 12, 2014, at Genoa City Retirement Home.

She was born in New Munster on April 11, 1937, to the late John F. and Matilda (Kretschmer) Bobula. She spent her early life in Twin Lakes where she attended school.

On Oct. 13, 1956, at St. Alphonsus Church, she married Joseph Lahodik. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington where they raised their family. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2001.

She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought much joy to her life. She loved fishing, but most of all loved going shopping. She enjoyed listening to Vince Gill and other country music along with spending time with her extended family at Genoa City Retirement Home, especially her dear friend, Maria.

Survivors include her children, Deborah (Rob) Koehnke, Dale Lahodik, Jeff (Leslie) Lahodik, Kevin (Denise) Lahodik, Scott (Maritza) Lahodik, Joe Lahodik; grandchildren, Katie (Mark) Henningfeld, Jenea (Jason) Nolan, Brianna Lahodik, Gunnar Lahodik, Carley Lahodik, Samantha Lahodik, Nichole (Ralph) Ravelo, Destiny (Nathan) Stadie, Rachel Lahodik, Kaelin Lahodik, Joshua (Destiny) Klatt, Richard Klatt, Gabrielle Klatt; great-grandchildren, Kellyn, Mallory, Destin, Cyrus, Brayden and Abel; siblings, Jack (Nancy), Tim (Linda), Donna (Charlie), Nancy, Tom, Patsy (Paul), Jim (Joella), Pam (Ric), Alice (Russ); and sister-in-law, Millie.

She was further preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Cindy Lahodik; siblings, Delores and Sunny; brother and sister-in-law, Ed (Marilyn) Lahodik.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Genoa City Retirement Home and Seasons Hospice for their compassion and care. A special thank you to Dr. Eric Kaplan, for giving us our mom back to us many times over the years.

Services for Barb are Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 12:30 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Sept. 23, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
