BILLY F. DIX

Easter Lily      Billy F. Dix, 87, Waterford, died peacefully Sept. 9, 2014, with his family by his side, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home, Union Grove. He was born in Salem on Dec. 7, 1926.

He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II.

On May 29, 1948, he married Rose Julia Cramer at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Waterford. In his early life he was the owner of Dix Bus Service where he also served as the mechanic. Later in life he was employed at Pewaukee Liquor Store and Pewaukee High School.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years; children, Sharon (Michael) Montour, James (Lynn) Dix, Scott Dix Sr., Michael Dix, Craig Dix; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Conrad) Kansitzke; brothers-in-law, Louie Slamar and Leroy Muto; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Nathan Dix; brother, Donald Dix; sisters, Frances Slamar, Joyce Dix and Dixie Lee Muto.

A memorial gathering and Mass was Sept. 12, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Burial was in St Thomas Cemetery. Billy’s family suggests memorials to St. Thomas Catholic Church or Wisconsin Veterans Home. Mealy Funeral Home, Waterford, served the family.
