STEVEN J. INGWELL

Easter LilySteven J. Ingwell, 75, of Burlington, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Madison, on June 23, 1939, he was the son of Dr. Clayton and Fern (Nieland) Ingwell. He spent his early life in Deerfield where he graduated from high school before attending MATC in Madison for automotive technology.

He served in the Navy receiving an honorable discharge in 1967.

On Oct. 14, 1967, he was united in marriage to Cynthia E. Gruetzman at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Atkinson. In 1968 they moved to Burlington where they raised their family.

Steve worked for Motors Insurance Corporation and was the owner of a MAACO Auto Painting and Body Works in Milwaukee. He was a member of Cross Lutheran Church, enjoyed camping, old cars, collecting automotive memorabilia, traveling around the country, attending swap meets and flea markets. He especially loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years; sons, Brian (Amanda Warner) Ingwell of Franklin and Jonathan (Leslie Mason) Ingwell of Baton Rouge, La.; one granddaughter, Claire Ingwell; one sister, Rhonda (Curt) Mork of Madison; one brother-in-law, Rick Faulmann of Boulder, Colo., along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and his faithful feline companion, Bear.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Linda Ingwell and Marcia Faulmann.

Memorials are suggested for Cross Lutheran Endowment Fund and Mayo Clinic Department of Development “Cancer Research in memory of Steven Ingwell”, 200 1st St. Southwest, Rochester, MN 55905.

The family would like to thank the cardiac, nephrology and oncology departments of Waukesha Memorial Hospital for their care and attention during Steve’s illness.

Services for Steve will be Monday, Oct. 13, at 1 p.m. at Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Carolyn Sellers presiding. Visitation will be at the church on Monday, October 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Burlington Cemetery.

Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, 625 S. Browns Lake Dr., Burlington, is serving the family.
