LORI LUDWIG

Lori Lynn Ludwig, 55, died on Oct. 3, 2014, at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie.

She was born Aug. 13, 1959, to Alvin and Edith Ludwig in Burlington. She graduated from Burlington High School and later graduated from MATC with associate of art degree in human resources and she also received a bachelor’s degree in human resources from Springfield College where she graduated cum laude.

Lori was a dedicated volunteer for the Domestic Abuse Hotline in Milwaukee. She worked for the Milwaukee Department of Human Resources for a number of years before she became ill. She played the drums for 17 years and loved animals and making crafts. She was thrilled to have received her motorcycle license at 52 years old. Her family and especially her grandson were very important to her.

Lori is survived by a child, Kasey Ludwig of Union Grove; grandson, Makayle Ludwig of Union Grove; her parents, Alvin and Edith Ludwig of Union Grove; her sister, Tami (Steve) Soetenga of Burlington; her nephew, David Soetenga of Honey Lake; and her niece, Allie (Ben) Zusan of Kansasville. She is further survived by her six aunts, four uncles, and numerous cousins and friends.

In accordance with Lori’s wishes, no service will be held. A celebration of Lori’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Old Settler’s Inn.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, Froedtert Memorial Hospital and Cameo Care Center. Also a special thank you to Barb (BJ) Christiansen for taking care of Lori during her four-year illness.
