Patrons complained to the owner of a Halloween haunted house venue in Mount Pleasant that someone inside had groped and sexually assaulted them Oct. 19.

Following investigation, Daniel Lee Rosmann, 51, of Kenosha, is charged with various misdemeanors, including disorderly conduct, lewd and lascivious behavior and three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault.

According to the criminal complaint filed Oct. 20 in Racine County Circuit Court:

Mount Pleasant police were contacted Oct. 19 to investigate a reported assault that occurred at the “Abandoned Haunted House Complex” at 2825 South East Front Road, while numerous patrons and employees were inside.

According to the complaint, security personnel had detained a male, later identified as Rosmann, whom some patrons had identified as the offender.

In the investigation, police interviewed a woman who said someone had approached her from behind and grabbed her buttocks in the Haunted House without her consent; a male adult said he had been grabbed from behind by someone who humped him aggressively; another male said someone had grabbed his head, forcibly pushed it into the perpetrator’s crotch area and held it there, according to the criminal complaint.

According to the web site, www.abandonedhaunted house.com, patrons enter the complex at their own risk and are warned not to touch the actors or any props. There are no refunds.

According to the web site, patrons can expect to experience intense audio and lighting, extreme low visibility, uneven walkways, strobe lights, heavy fog or haze, damp or wet conditions and a physically demanding environment.

Rosmann made an initial appearance in court Oct. 20, at which time a not-guilty plea was entered for him.

A $500 cash bond has been set, with conditions that Rosmann be on house arrest with electronic monitoring, and have no contact with the Haunted House or the victims.

He is next due in court Dec. 4 for a pre-trial conference.
