ROY W. BUNCH

Easter Lily      Roy Williams Bunch, 82, Bowling Green, Ky., died peacefully Oct. 27, at Christian Health Center in Bowling Green. He was born June 9, 1932, in Glasgow, Ky., to the late Walter Wheat Bunch and Annie Jewell Williams Bunch.

He grew up on his family farm near Glasgow and graduated from Hiseville High School in 1950. He then attended the University of Kentucky where in graduated with an agriculture degree in 1954.

After serving in the U.S. Army for two years and traveling with a government job, he secured a job with Roundy’s as a meat director where he worked for 26 years in Wisconsin. Roy was very active in his professional career, church and community services. He served on several boards including the Milwaukee Meat Council, Waterford Lions club and Waterford school board. In addition, he was an elder for several years at Vernon Presbyterian Church and a member at Bowling Green Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He had a love for sports and played both basketball and golf late into his life. He coached his son’s Little League baseball teams and was a passionate UK basketball fan.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Ritter Bunch, Bowling Green; son, Michael (Patti) Bunch, Lake St. Louis, Mo., and their two sons, Conner and Parker Bunch; a daughter-in-law Patricia (Martin) Bunch and her daughter, Payton Bunch; sisters, Lois (Carson) Crabtree, Greensboro, N.C., Gayle (Danny) Berry, Glasgow; sisters-in-law, Mildred Bunch, Peggy Reece, Shirley (Harvey) Blanck; brothers-in-law, Marshall (Patty) Bailey, Max (Debra) Ritter; and nieces and nephews.

He was further preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Roy Bunch, and his brother, Roger Mitchell Bunch.

Funeral services are Friday, Oct. 31, at 11 a.m., at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home, Glasgow, with burial in the Neals Chapel Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by DAV Chapter #20 of Glasgow. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Alternate expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or the Neals Chapel Cemetery.
