Man killed when hit by train

A man was killed after being hit by a train in the early morning hours Saturday in the City of Burlington.

According to a press release from the city police, police and the Burlington Rescue Squad responded at about 4 a.m. Saturday morning to the report of a man hit by a train at the intersection of Jefferson and Bridge Streets.

The man was declared dead at the scene. No name was released by the police department.
