Evertt R. Edstrom, 79, Waterford, died peacefully on Nov. 2, 2014. He was born in Galena, Kan., on Jan. 21, 1935, to the late Arthur and Dora (Hatcher) Edstrom.
He spent his early life in Kansas and Missouri and moved to Waterford in 1969. He was a purchasing manager for Edstrom Industries in Waterford for 30 plus years.
He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed reading, walking, daily meditations and mostly spending time with his dog Bertha.
Survivors include his daughter, Sylvia (Ronald) Salmon, Elkhorn; brother, Bill Edstrom; sister-in-law, Paula Edstrom; nieces; nephews; other relatives; friends; and his K-9 companion Bertha.
He was further preceded in death by his brother, Homer Edstrom, and sister-in-law, Sylvia Edstrom.
A memorial gathering with family is Saturday, Nov. 15, from 10-11 a.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford, Services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating. In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials are suggested to the family.
