Janet M. Uhen, 78, Burlington, died Nov. 28, 2014, at Artisan Assisted Living in Lake Geneva.
She was born in New Munster on April 14, 1936, to the late Joseph and Regina (Weber) Lois. She spent her early life in New Munster where she attended St. Alphonsus Grade School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
On Jan. 22, 1955, she married Robert W. Uhen at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burlington. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington where they raised their family.
She retired from being the director of Food Service for the Burlington Area School District and was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She loved any and all time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years; daughters, Lois (Larry) Cramer, Kay Uhen and Louann Hartmann; grandchildren, Angela (Jason) Hansen, Brian (Crystal) Cramer, Laura (Adam) Brulz and Rebecca Hartmann; great-grandchildren, Coi, Ty and Alina Hansen and Bryce, Evan and Alex Cramer; siblings, Anita (John) Nemath, Marie (Harold) Boulden and Jerome (Noreen) Lois; sister-in-law, Marion Lois; brother-in-law, James Schaefer.
She was further preceded in death by siblings, Richard Lois, Kenneth (Joyce) Lois, Mercedes (Syl) Woyak and Verena Schaeffer.
In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Charles Church or School would be appreciated.

Services for Janet are Monday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church. Family and friends may visit on Dec. 1, from 4-6:30 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington. Burial will be private at St. Charles Cemetery.
