Easter Lily      Edward William ‘Bill’ Shallock, 92, Naples, Fla., and Burlington, beloved husband of Mildred Lucile Roberts for over 69 years, died peacefully on Nov. 27, 2014, in Naples. He was born in Chicago on May 13, 1922, to the late Edward William Shallock and Glendora Rommel Shallock.

He attended Lane Tech High School in Chicago and graduated from the University of Illinois in 1946, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, while serving in the U.S. Navy.

He married Mildred Lucile Roberts on April 21, 1945, at the Tabernacle Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis.

During his working career Bill was active in Kiwanis and the Free Masons. He had a passion for golf, with five hole-in-ones during his lifetime. He enjoyed the open seas, including boating, fishing, sailing, and especially cruising during retirement.

He will be dearly missed by his sons, Edward W. (Cherie) Shallock, Forest, Va., James R. (Peggy) Shallock, Bellaire, Texas, Steven G. ( Cindy) Shallock, Mequon; eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

At Bill’s request a private family viewing was held to honor him in Naples, on Dec. 3. A memorial service and burial will be scheduled at a future date in Burlington. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, served the family.

The family wishes to thank all of the family and friends who have expressed their condolences, thoughts, and prayers. A special thanks to the staff at Juniper Village of Naples for their compassionate care of Bill.
