Lillian M. ‘Gigi’ Vrzan, 80, Burlington, died Jan. 26, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
She was born in Chicago on March 22, 1934, to the late Frank and Sophie (Vachata) Rehor.
On July 16, 1955, in Chicago, she married Stan Vrzan. Following marriage they made their home in Chicago before moving to Burlington in 1963 where they raised their family. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1982.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She loved going to rummage sales and spending time with her family. During her life she became a mother to more than just her own children. She was a friend to many and loved by all.
Survivors include her children, Steve (Sue) Vrzan, Debbie (Dave) Schulz, Laura (Bill Bellows) Kelley, Sue (Steve) Cole; grandchildren, Melissa (fiancé, Josh), Nicole (fiancé, Michael), Brooke (fiancé, Ben), Payton, Scott, Cheyenne and Landon and beloved cat, Ludwig.
She was further preceded in death by her son-in-law, Blair Kelley, and an infant sister, Libby.
The family would like to thank Dr. Haider and his staff and the physicians and staff in the ICU unit at Burlington Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 31, at noon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James Volkert presiding. Family and friends may visit in the Good Shepherd Chapel Saturday, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Burial will follow Mass at St. Mary Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
