MYRON A. ‘Mike’ KNUTSON

Easter Lily      Myron A. ‘Mike’ Knutson, 96, Waterford, died Jan. 25, 2015, at Wisconsin Veterans Home in Union Grove.

He was born on May 25, 1918, to the late Martin and Julia (Everson) Knutson. He spent his early life in Cambridge, and taught himself how to play the harmonica. He was a star football player in high school, graduating in 1936.

On Aug. 12, 1967, he married Barbara J. Roth in Madison. The couple had lived in Milwaukee and Waterford where Mike managed and owned car washes. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Allis.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He enjoyed singing and playing music.

Survivors include his wife; children, Jim, Middleton, Barb, Madison, Sue, Waterford, Terri, Woodland, Sharon (Van) Hauck, South Carolina; grandchildren, Mike, Mark, Scott, Holly, Shelley and Kari; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marilyn Knutson; other relatives and friends.

He was further preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Clifford (Dorothy), Alice (Earl) John, Lillian (Gee).

Visitation will be held Mealy Funeral Home, Inc., 225 W. Main St., Waterford, on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 3-4 p.m., and also in the Trinity Evangelical Church, 2500 S. 68th St., West Allis, on Friday, Jan. 30, from 10-10:45 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Western Koshkonong Lutheran Church Cemetery, 2633 Church St., Cottage Grove, at 3 p.m., on Friday.
