JUNE E. LUKE

Easter Lily      June E. Luke, 91, Waukesha, died Feb. 24, 2015, at Linden Grove–Waukesha.

She was born in Kenosha on May 2, 1923, to the late Ernest and Alice (Johnson) Tabbert. She spent her early life in Somers where she attended Burr Oak Grade School and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School.

On Sept. 14, 1945, she married Donald George Luke. Following marriage they made their home in the Town of Wheatland before moving to Springstead, in 1975. Don preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 2010.

In June’s earlier years she worked at Kenosha Brassworks during WWII making ammunition for the troops. Following marriage she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Park Falls and in 1975 she and Don formed Springfield Realty.

Survivors include her children, Dean (Jayne) Luke, New Munster, Sharon (Larry) Dittman, Waukesha, Danny Luke, Springstead, David (Linda) Luke, Burlington, Donna (Dennis) Hirthe, Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, Jerry (Mary) Schuerman, Donald (Shelley) Schuerman, Nancy Iverson, Paul (Mona) Schuerman, Deanna Luke, Karen (Paul) Berenson, Bill Baumeister, Marie Baumeister, Robert (Stacy) Baumeister, Danielle Luke, Derrick Luke, Timothy (Lorena) Luke, Trisha (Jason) Fay, Nicky (Rob) Blasier, Jackie Hirthe, Christopher Hirthe and Samantha Hirthe; 22 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen (Albert) Schlitz, Springstead, Lenny Tabbert, Springstead, Ernest ‘Bunk’ (Dolores) Tabbert, Somers; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Richard (Mary) Luke; grandson, Tim Iverson; niece, Lorena Luke, and nephew, Ricky Luke.

Services are Tuesday, March 3, at 12:30 p.m., at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in New Munster with the Rev. Terry Langley presiding. Visitation is at the church on March 3, from 10 a.m. to noon. Burial will follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory. Burlington, is serving the family.
