Village requests bids for way-finding signage

Residents and visitors will find it easier to find their way around the Village of Waterford with the addition of new way-finding signage being installed throughout the village this summer.

A committee has been meeting for the last two years to design and set locations for way-finding directional signage to help visitors and residents find key destinations in the village, with a special focus on identifying public parking areas.

Working in partnership with the Village of Waterford, the committee has representatives from Absolutely Waterford, Waterford Area Chamber of Commerce, Waterford Lion’s Club, Baymont Inn and Suites, Real Racine and Racine County Eco- nomic Development Corporation.

Absolutely Waterford, through its Main Street Program, donated the services of a consultant who led the committee in developing specific signage recommendations that met the guidelines of the state Department of Transportation.

Twenty-five signs and new poles will be placed throughout the Village giving directional information, Village population, and parking lot hours of enforcement.

The Village has posted its Request for Proposals for project bids.

Bids for the way-finding project will be accepted by Tina Chitwood, Community Development Manager, Racine County Economic Development Corporation via U.S. Mail at Waterford Village Hall, 123 N. River St., Waterford, WI 53185 until noon, Thursday, April 23.
