Kash for Kidneys fundraiser set

North Cape School and its Student Council are joining together in a fundraising effort to honor first-grade teacher, Mrs. Jessica Harris.

In November, Harris made a living kidney donation to her father, and after learning about this, the Student Council decided to assemble a school/community-wide fundraiser called Kash for Kidneys.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin. Students designed T-shirts that are being sold at school and they are doing one school bake sale per month, which started in January and goes through May.

They are also collecting any Kash for Kidneys donations from the community.

There will be an all-school finale assembly on Friday, May 8, to announce how much money has been raised for this great cause. Student Council will then take their donation, in honor of Mrs. Harris, to the MKE My Kidneys Run/Walk in Greendale on Saturday, May 9. This fundraiser is a way to show support for Mrs. Harris’s generous donation and also as a way to show our support for others affected by kidney disease.

Anyone interested in additional information about joining the run/walk, T-shirt order forms or making a donation to Kash for Kidneys, see our school website at www.northcape.k12.wi.us.
