LaVerne Hinz (Karczewski), 79, died peacefully April 1, 2015, surrounded by loved ones at her residence. She was born Jan. 7, 1936, to the late Leonard and Phyllis (Duda) Karczewski.
She married Leonard Jan. 7, 1956, and they happily spent 59 years together. She loved traveling with Leonard whether it was to a casino or island hopping. LaVerne was an avid bowler and golfer. She was a great baker and is well known for her Swedish coffee cake, better known as, the S-cake (you may also look forward to sharing this favorite dessert at her luncheon).
Survivors include her loving husband; children, Mark (Tori) Hinz, Sue Leighton, Kathy (Russ) Robers, Ken Hinz; Lisa Krajcik, Karen (Phil) Gagnon; grandchildren, Ryan, Kevin (Jamie), Heather (Joe), Erik, Lauren (Cameron), Kyle; great-grandchildren, Chloe and Alaina.
She was further preceded in death by her son-in-law, Rick Leighton; brother, Bob Karczewski; sister, Shirley Hinz.
A memorial service was held April 4, at St. Clare’s Catholic Church. Integrity Funeral Services, Waterford, served the family.
