ANN M. ROWNTREE

Easter Lily      Ann Mary Rowntree, 95, Dover Township, died April 26, 2015, at her home on the Rowntree family farm.

She was born Sept. 7, 1919, to the late Howard and Mary Jane (Johnston) Kyle in the Town of Lima. She grew up in the Whitewater area and graduated from Whitewater High School in 1936. Following high school she attended and graduated from UW–Madison.

On March 16, 1946, at North Lima Presbyterian Church, she married the late John E. Rowntree.

She was a member of Plymouth Congregational UCC, helped her husband, run the family farm and served as a 4-H leader for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and baking. She was especially known for her famous chocolate chip cookies.

Survivors include her children, David (Arlene) Rowntree, Union Grove, Mary (Andy) Currie, Waunakee, Ruth (Greg) Reinhart, College Station, Texas, Tom (Kay) Rowntree, Waterford, Paul (Toni) Rowntree, Kansasville; grandchildren, Jean (Patrick) Uhlenhake, Andrew (Kristin) Rowntree, Karen Rowntree, Sue Rowntree, Jonathan (Julia) Currie, Robert Currie, Katie Reinhart, Tim Reinhart, Scott Rowntree (fiancée Jennifer Holle), Bryan Rowntree, Kyle Rowntree, Matthew Rowntree, Christina Rowntree; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Margaret and Laura Rowntree, Benjamin and Tobias Currie, Nathaniel Uhlenhake; sisters-in-law, Ruth Forhan and Maryanna Allabough; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was further preceded in death by her brother, William (Beverly and Norma) Kyle.

Memorials have been suggested to Plymouth Congregational UCC or to Racine County 4-H Leaders Association.

Funeral services are Saturday, May 2, at 6 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, with the Rev. Robert Wang officiating. Inurnment will follow in Rochester Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 3 p.m. until time of service.
