Man shoots himself in foot while hunting

A 69-year-old Town of Dover man sought medical treatment Wednesday after accidentally shooting himself in the foot while hunting in the area, according to a press release issued by the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities were notified of the incident about 3:42 p.m. Wednesday after the man showed up at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington for treatment. Sheriff’s Department investigators and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources wardens responded to investigate the incident, the release said.

The man was eventually transported from Memorial Hospital to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials.
