FRANK ‘BOB’ HETZEL

Easter Lily      Frank ‘Bob’ Hetzel, 85, was born in Burlington on Jan. 27, 1930, to the late Frank and Margaret Hetzel and passed away on May 8, 2015, at home surrounded by family.

After graduating from Burlington High School he entered the U.S. Navy in 1949. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy in 1968 and returned to Burlington with his family.

He purchased a coin laundry and dry-cleaning business and operated it for eight years. He then became a security guard at Burlington Memorial Hospital.

In 1984 he and his wife moved to Tucson, Ariz., where he also worked as a security guard and then worked as ‘your helpful hardware man’ at Ace Hardware until he retired in 1995.

Survivors include his wife, Pat, of 62 years; son Karl (Lori) Hetzel; daughters Katherine Hetzel, Kim Hetzel, Kristy (Paul) Morrison, and Karla (Greg Morrison) Hetzel; grandchildren Eric Golas, Logan, Connor, Delaney, and Nadya Hetzel, Jacob Hetzel, and Jesse and Kelly Morrison.

Frank was cremated and will have a military funeral at a future date.
