Katherine A. ‘Sue’ (Eddy) McCarthy, 96, Joliet, died May 20, 2015, at Alden Estates of Shorewood with her family by her side.
She was born May 29, 1918, in Burlington. She resided in Joliet since 1953. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her daughters, Deanna (Gerald) Berard, Plano, Jean (James) Missig, Joliet, Gayle (Arthur) Simon, Plainfield, Linda (Gary) Cornelius, Mars, Pa.; grandchildren, Laurie (Robert) Reattoir, Allison (Josh) Kropp, James (Diana) Missig, Joele (Tim) Durak, Jalayne (Dwayne) Weis, Kristina Martensen, Julie (Anton) Phillips, Amanda (John) Minski, Scott (Danielle) Simon, Kevin Cornelius and Thomas (Amanda) Cornelius; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William J. McCarthy in 1995; her parents, William O. and Lillian B. (Jones) Eddy; two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services are Tuesday, May 26, at 10:30 a.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet, to Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for Mass at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
