KENNETH H. EPPERS

Easter Lily     Kenneth H. Eppers, 85, Tomah, formerly Richmond, Ill., died May 24, 2015, at Prairie Du Chien, as a result of an auto accident.

He was born in Burlington on March 22, 1930, to the late John and Marcella (Weis) Eppers.

He went to school in Burlington and studied animal husbandry and agriculture in Salem, Wis.

He married Genevieve Wilson Oct. 2, 1948.

He worked at Circle A Farm in Morris, Ill., then worked as a herdsman at Northern Pump Co., Richmond, Ill., for 25 years and Ring Side Farm for 17 years. He was named herdsman of the Year in 1968 and was a two-time winner at Denver Stock Show Grand Champion Carload Bulls, one of which was the first win from any farm east of the Mississippi, among many other honors.

He retired to LaFarge, Wis., where they lived for 15 years before moving to Tomah in the spring of 2009.

Survivors include his daughter, Kathy (Art) Steinhafel, Bent Mountain, Va.; sons, Kenneth (Nancy) Eppers Jr., Krum, Texas, Michael (Joanne) Eppers, Wonder Lake, Ill., Thomas (Dawn) Eppers, Twin Lakes; 11 grandchildren, Shawn (Julie) Eppers, Valerie Kearns, Tom (Becky) Eppers, Ashley (Mark) Hoglund, Abigail Eppers, Amanda Eppers, Kevin (Kimberly) Eppers, Andrew Eppers, Alexis Adams, Austin Steinhafel, Haley Steinhafel; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob (Betty) Wilson, Burlington.

Memorial visitation is Monday June 15, from 4-6 p.m., at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, 10011 Main St, Richmond. Interment will be private.
