Candidate filings for 2012 local elections feature one school board primary contest and plenty of other races with little or no challenge to the status quo.

A primary will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21, to determine which four of the five candidates seeking election to the Waterford Union High School Board of Education will advance to the Tuesday, April 3, spring election.

A listing of local seats up for election follows.

• VILLAGE OF WATERFORD trustee (three seats)

Incumbent Ron Kluth faces challengers Tamara Pollnow, Don Houston and Steve Denman.

Incumbent trustees Don Hewitt and Randy Harrington are not seeking re-election.

The two-year positions pay $5,400 annually plus $40 per meeting.
