High school graduation is one of the most exciting times in life for many students.

Union Grove Christian School conducted its graduation ceremony on May 22, 2015. Five students were a part of this year’s graduating class.

The ceremony’s valedictorian was Lisa Zimmerman who was chosen based on her grade point average.

“She is a hardworking young lady who is looking to go on to a Bible college following graduation,” said Principal Lee Morey.

Pastor Adam Love served as the speaker of the evening.

“My advice to the graduating class is that they take advantage of the biblical training they have received here in addition to their education, and put to use following graduation,” Morey said.

According to Morey, what sets Union Grove Christian School apart from other schools is their emphasis on biblical study.

“We honor God’s word as the central theme of what we teach, and so we look at what we consider a biblical worldview. I think that’s critical,” Morey said. “We have standards that we maintain, which I think creates an educational environment.”

He said due to the non-typical setup of the school with small student-teacher ratio, their students tend to have a good academic standing.

“We have a quite small student teacher ratio within our school because to have 5 kids in that class, that is not a typical of class sized throughout schools,” Morey said. “We know our students and we know where they are in the class and academically.”
