The Village of Rochester will close a section of Highways 20 and 83 starting Monday.
The section between Highway 36 in Rochester and East Main Street in the Village of Waterford will be closed to repair a sanitary sewer line, with the work taking place at the intersection with Evergreen Drive.
Rochester Department of Public Works Manager Chris Birkett said a recent televising of the sewer line showed a portion that needed work.
“We’ve discovered that we have some loss of integrity to the pipe structure,” he said.
Village staff expects the road to reopen on or before Aug. 1.
All traffic will be detoured to Highway 36 in the Village of Waterford. Detour signs will be placed along the route. Birkett estimated the detour to be about a mile.
