The City of Burlington Plan Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved Bear Development’s plans to move forward with a second phase of the Fox Crossing Apartments at 200 Bridge Street.

S.R. Mills, the developer and general contractor for the project, was on hand to describe the plans. He said the apartments created in the first phase have all been leased and he wants to expand from 24 to 32 apartments.

“It fits very well,” Mills said of the project.

The only real question Mills faced was regarding parking. There are 40 stalls in the initial building – with parking taking up the first level. Some of those stalls will be used for second phase tenants.

That phase will feature four stories, offering one- to three-bedroom units.

The Plan Commission also approved a conditional use and site plan application for Veterans Truck Line, Inc., for property at 800 Blackhawk Drive in the city’s manufacturing and office park.

The property will be used to expand a truck parking lot. The company will, according to City Planner Patrick Meehan, have to install a buffer yard, and combine the two lots to meet a landscaping minimum.
