GERALDINE H. HALBACH

      Geraldine H. Halbach, 90, Waterford, died peacefully on July 28, 2015. She was born on April 21, 1925, in Waterford, to the late Joseph and Martha (Reiske) Halbach. She was a graduate of Waterford High School and then enrolled in St. Vincent Pediatric Nursing School in Chicago, from where she earned her degree in 1945.

She worked as a nurse for St. Vincent DePaul in Milwaukee, which was run by the Sisters of Charity. She was also a private duty nurse in Milwaukee for a few years. She was a tireless caretaker of the Halbach family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her brother, James L (Cele) Halbach; nieces and nephews, David (Ramona) Halbach, Marianne (Ken) Augspurger, Barbara (Mike) Bennet, Rich Halbach, Robert (Terri) Halbach, Debra Halbach and Vicki (Eddie) Roberson; special friends, Dale Sponholz, Arlene Duve and Anna Marie Tenfel; and by other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Mary Ann, Robert, twin brother Gerald, Jerome, David and Francis.

Visitation is Friday July 31, from 10-10:45 a.m., at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 305 S. First St., Waterford, with Mass beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mealy Funeral Home, Inc., Waterford, is serving the family.

In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, memorials made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church are suggested.
