LaVerne Cathman, 69, Burlington, died Aug. 23, 2015, at Lakeview Specialty Hospital. He was born in Prairie du Chien on May 22, 1946, to the late Virgil L. and Inez L. (Evans) Cathman. He spent his early life in Prairie du Chien where he attended school.
On Oct. 21, 2011, he married Anne Marie Roeling. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington. He worked for Darien Foundry and was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church. He enjoyed playing bingo, watching Monster trucks and car racing, and the Green Bay Packers. In his younger days he was a hunter.
Survivors include his wife; daughter, DeDe Middleton; in-laws, Germaine and Richard Roeling; brothers-in-law, Richard Roeling, Paul Roeling and Kevin Roeling; many nieces and nephews.
He was further preceded in death by his grandparents; first wife; sister, Lavonne and brother, Jerry Lee Cathman.
The family would like to thank Lakeview Terrace, Mercy Hospital, Dr. McCoy, Marie Howe and Pastor Dave and Pastor John from Mt. Zion Christian Church for all their care and concern during this time.
Services are Saturday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m., at Mount Zion Christian Church with the Rev. Dave Adams officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Aug. 29, from 9-10:45 a.m. Burial will be private. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
