KATHLEEN M. BRODELL

Easter Lily      Kathleen M. Brodell, 94, Kansasville, died Sept. 24, 2015, at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington. She was born Nov. 6, 1920, to the late John and Mary (Nevin) McGuire in Dover, where she spent her early life.

On May 4, 1946, she married the late Donald Brodell at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover. Following marriage they spent most of their lives living on Eagle Lake in Dover. Before marriage, she worked as a teacher and following marriage she was a homemaker and retired as a secretary from Meeter Brothers.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Dover Catholic Church and belonged to the St. Mary’s Women’s Club. She enjoyed bowling, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, traveling with her husband and watching her favorite show, “Wheel of Fortune.” More than anything, she enjoyed having her family come to visit.

Survivors include her children, Donna (John) Prochacka, Burlington, and John (Karilyn) Brodell, Jackson Hole, Wyo.; grandchildren, Chris (Jim) Jacobsen, Burlington, Barry (Dana) Wunsch, San Diego, Calif., and Megan (Shawn) Wilder, Long Lake; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Caitlyn Jacobsen, Sara and Trevor Wunsch, and Kaylee, Shawn, Tyler and Sierra Wilder; special nephew, Jim Kruse; other nieces and nephews.

She was further preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Wunsch; sister, Patricia Strempler; and brother, Thomas McGuire.

The family has suggested memorials be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover.

Kathleen’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at Arborview for all their care and compassion.

A Funeral Mass is Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m., at St. Mary’s in Dover, with Fr. Robert Kacalo officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the church. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Dover Cemetery at a later date. Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Union Grove, is serving the family.
