ERIK S. APPEL

Easter Lily      Erik S. Appel, 25, Burlington, died suddenly Oct. 5, 2015, at his home.

He was born in Clovis, N.M., on Aug. 10, 1990, to Steven and Amy (Anderson), Appel.

He worked as a laborer for Asphalt Services of Rochester and was maintenance man for Country Estates, where he lived. He was a former Cub Scout, winning the Pine Derby as a youngster.

Survivors include his mother, Amy (Tom Ganka) Appel, Burlington; his father, Maryland Heights, Mo.; sisters, Brittany Appel, Ariel Appel, and Emma Appel, all Maryland Heights; a brother, Luke E. Appel, Marengo, Ill.; stepbrother, Frank Ganka; his step-grandmother, Therese Anderson, Twin Lakes; maternal grandfather, Earl Fox, plus many loving aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Elizabeth Fox, and George Anderson; paternal grandparents, Ed and Phyllis Appel and Nancy Appel

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 9, at Ehorn-Adams Funeral Home, 10011 Main St., Richmond, IL. Religious service will follow at noon Oct. 9, with the Rev. Glen Fontana officiating. Inurnment will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Twin Lakes at later date.
