JOHN F. LEISING

Easter Lily      John Francis Leising, 83, East Troy, died Oct. 9, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Burlington. He was born April 12, 1932, to the late Francis and Marie (Kuehne) Leising and grew up in Milwaukee.

He married Ruth Therese Labiszak, his longtime school sweetheart, on June 27, 1953, at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Together they were blessed with 15 children.

John worked at IBM as a field engineer and retired after 33 years of service. His later years were spent on the building maintenance staff at St. Peter’s School, East Troy.

He was an avid reader and history buff, and volunteered at the East Troy Public Library. He was involved in religious education for Mother of Perpetual Help in Milwaukee and St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Troy.

John was a fan of many sports, but most enjoyed playing backyard and driveway games with his children and grandchildren. He also found great joy in watching his family in and on the water at their home on Booth Lake.

He loved his Model A especially with his grandchildren riding in the rumble seat. John’s favorite treat was chocolate – how sweet it is!

Survivors include his wife; children, Julie (Dennis) Makoutz, Millville Minn., Anne (Dave) Kocinski, Newport News, Va., Tom (Marsha), Beaver Dam, Mary (Dan) Fiesthammel, Oconomowoc, Mike (Beth Gramza Leising), Elkhorn, Dan (Eleanor), New Berlin, Carol (Paul) Nyffeler, East Troy, Tricia (Mick) Mitten, East Troy, Barbara (Tim) McCourt, Burlington, Sue (John) Lehsten, New Berlin, David (Deb), East Troy, Diana, Burlington, Beth, Milton, Nick (Jessica), Whitewater; 50 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte (Frank) Dwyer, Janet (Jerry) Rothenhoefer;  brother, Richard (Lynette); other relatives and many friends.

He was further preceded in death by his first child, Joseph John.

Services were held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Legacy Funeral Services, East Troy, assisted the family.
