COLLEEN M. MARTIN

Easter Lily      Colleen M. Martin, 83, Union Grove, died peacefully Nov. 15, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 7, 1932, to the late Harvey and Margaret (Schneider) West in Oregon, Wis. Her early life was spent in Oregon. She graduated from Rochester Ag School.

On March 8 1952, she married William E. ‘Bill’ Martin in Fort Monmouth, N.J. After Bill’s service in the Army, they established their home in Union Grove where they raised their family. Colleen worked as the bookkeeper at Martin’s Chrysler Dealership for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as the past president.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years; children, William M (Marjorie) Martin, Pamela (Nicholas) Weis, Nancy (Stephen) Spiering, Douglas (Debbie) Martin; grandchildren, Toni Beth (Jacob) Martin, Kelly Weis, Kyle (Erin) Weis, Ryan Spiering, Samantha Spiering, Aimee Spiering, Chelsea Martin, Kathrine Martin, Daniel Martin, Katie (Kevin) Fisher, Tommi (Josh) Griffin, and Karlie Barnes; great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Isaacson, Kayden Weis, Taylor Savage, Mya Savage, Luke Savage and Arielle Martin; her siblings, Dorothy (Hubert) Pezzi, Patricia (Arlie) Church, Beverly (James) Mutter, Adel (Robert) Gunderson, Therese (Henry) Hoffman; sisters-in-law, Marjorie Demuth and Marlene (Thomas) Beattie; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Robert Demuth, and in-laws, William and Hilda Martin.

Memorials, in honor of Colleen, may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Lisa Simonds and Aunt Adel for all their care and compassion.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday Nov. 21, at 11:30 a.m., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Ramirez officiating. Burial will follow in Union Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, Nov. 20, at Polnasek-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, 908 11th Ave., Union Grove, from 4-7 p.m., and again on Saturday, at church from 10:30-11:15 a.m.
