ELAINE R. KURTH

Easter Lily      Elaine R. Kurth, 93, Winterhaven, Fla., formerly Burlington, died Nov. 13, 2015, in Winterhaven.

She was born in Milwaukee on Dec. 20, 1921, to the late Christian and Sigrid (Andersen) Owley.

She spent her early life in Milwaukee, moving to Pewaukee at a young age where she attended Pewaukee Grade School and graduated from Pewaukee High School.

On March 27, 1943, in Milwaukee, she married William F. Kurth. Bill was serving in the military at the time and they lived in several locations before settling in Burlington in 1955. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2005.

She was a homemaker during her early years; worked at Alby Block as an office manager and had owned and operated Cedar Park Store for many years. Upon retirement Bill and Elaine moved to Woodruff, and then Winterhaven. She was active with the Cedar Park Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary and the Cedar Park Card Club for many years. She enjoyed rosemaling painting, crossword puzzles and was an avid card player.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Janet) Kurth, San Antonio, Texas, James (Kathy) Kurth, Lyons, David (Margo) Kurth, Burlington, Kim Zimmerman, Winterhaven; grandchildren, Veronica (Danny), Jeffrey (Theresa), Stephanie, Erich (Kim) Shane (Chris), Heidi (Gary), Bill (Kara), Arielle and Sam; great-grandchildren, Brent, Nick, Eric, Brody, Olivia, Bella, Bobby, Alicen, Wyatt, Ian, Carson, Josie, Jack, Liam and Keane.

She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Norwood, Christian and Gordon Owley.

Services for Elaine are Friday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, 625 Browns Lake Drive, Burlington, with the Rev. Terry Lemmon officiating. Visitation for family and friends is at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 4, from 4-7 p.m. Burial is Friday at 10 a.m., at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove.
