Katherine M. Gustafson, 84, Burlington, died Dec. 16, 2015, at Geneva Lake Manor surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 21, 1931, in New Rockford, N.D., to the late Helmer and Annie (Lesmiester) Ulness. She spent her early life in North Dakota where she graduated from Oberon High School.
On Nov. 26, 1950, in Minnewaukan, N.D., she married Donald L. Gustafson. Following marriage they made their home in Alaska and Fargo, N.D., before moving to Burlington 50 years ago. She worked for Foster Forbes and Northern Engineering. She was a member of Cross Lutheran Church for 50 years where she served as a Sunday greeter. She was a dedicated taskmaster, kept a spotless home, was a wonderful cook and loved shopping. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years; children, Mark (Karen) Gustafson, Rochester Hill, Mich., Debra Weber, Waukesha; grandchildren, Nathan (Sarah) Weber, Justin (Kristi) Weber, Erin Gustafson, Brian Gustafson and Kasie Gustafson; great-grandchildren, Remi, Lorelei, Scarlett and Celia; sister-in-law, Ila Jeanne (Stan) Goter.
She was further preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Frances (Pete) Poulsen.
The family is asking for memorials to go to Cross Lutheran Church or St. Jude’s.

Services were Dec. 21, at Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home, Burlington, with the Rev. Kristin Rice officiating. Burial will take place at a later time.
