Donald H. Busch died Feb. 5, 2016, his 89th birthday, at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center with his children at his side.
He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Brighton, to the late Edward and Mary (Collings) Busch. He spent his early life in Brighton and graduated from high school.
On Sept. 2, 1950, at St. Charles Church, he married Isabelle Porter. Following marriage they made their home in Burlington where they raised their family. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2002.
He worked as a plant supervisor at Burlington Mills and also owned and operated Coated Fabrics Inc. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, enjoyed working on classic cars and golfing. He always loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Barb (Bill) Holst, Kris (Gary) Thole, Mark (Becky) Busch; grandchildren, Terry Holst, Tracy (Steve) Schoessling, Kelly (Bryan) Harjes, Scott (Angie) Thole, Deanna Busch and Donny Busch; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Reagan, Sienna, Lilah, Dahlia, Ellie and Addie; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was further preceded in death by his; wife; brothers, Walter (Agnes) Busch, Vic (Margaret) Busch, Ray (Micky) Busch, Lee (Mary) Busch; sisters, Clara (Ray) Brever and Lillian (Chuck) Riggs.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Charles Catholic School.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington and Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, Elkhorn, the staff at Lakeland Health Care, Aurora VNA Hospice and Fr. Jim Volkert for all their care, concern and prayers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 9, at 11 a.m., at St. Charles Catholic Church with the Rev. Yamid Blanco presiding. Family and friends may visit Tuesday, from 10-11 a.m., at the church. Burial will follow the service in St. Charles Cemetery. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
