Bronco girls fall 53-31 to Wisconsin Lutheran

In their poorest offensive effort of the season, the Union Grove High School girls’ basketball team lost to Wisconsin Lutheran 53-31 Tuesday at Milwaukee.

The Broncos scored just 17 points total in the first three quarters, while Wisconsin Lutheran racked up 44. A 14-9 Bronco edge in the final period provided the 22-point final margin.

Wisconsin Lutheran led 14-4 after one quarter and upped that to 30-11 at the half.

Alyssa Acker scored nearly one-third of the Bronco points, leading the team with 10. Wisconsin Lutheran had three players in double figures, led by Kelsey Frey with 18.

Union Grove had only nine field goals in this game, five of those coming from beyond the arc.

At the foul line, the Broncos connected on 8 of 15, while Wisconsin Lutheran made 9 of 14.

Wisconsin Lutheran improved to 7-7 overall with the win, while Union Grove fell to 6-6 overall.
