MARTHA J. SAEGER

Easter Lily      Martha Jane (Craven) Saeger, 83, Wautoma, 83, died Feb. 11, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Rhonda, due to an ongoing illness. She was born on March 14, 1932, in Hawkeye, Iowa, to the late Richard and Mabel (McIntyer) Craven. At age 8, she and her family moved to Merrill. She attended area schools there.

On Nov. 7, 1953, she married Frank Saeger. Later they divorced after 27 years of marriage. Martha was employed at Wisconsin Southern Colony and retired after 29 years of working there. After retirement, she worked for various home health care services. She was a member of Yorkville United Methodist Church. There she taught Sunday school. She was a member of the church choir and the United Methodist Women’s Group and the church bowling league. She was active in other women’s bowling leagues and also took part in many bowling tournaments. She enjoyed traveling and had even been to the holy land.

As a 25th anniversary gift from their children, she and Frank went to Rome and Paris. Her last trip was in 2007 with her daughter and son-in-law on a 10-day road trip in the far Northeastern states and into Canada.

Survivors include her children, Jeff (Kathy) Saeger, Linda (Joe) Callewaert, Rhonda (Jeff) LeAnna; grandchildren, Chad Callewaert (Heather Meridith), Matthew (Kristin) Callewaert, Jennifer (Jason) Kressin, Brett LeAnna, and Aaron LeAnna; step-grandchildren, Joseph J. Callewaert, Carol (Cory) Polzin, Brian (Sonia) Callewaert, Amy (Bryan) Savage; great-grandsons, Logan and Austin Kressin, and Derrick Callewaert; 10 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandson; a brother, Leslie (Shirley) Craven; nieces; nephews; cousins, and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine (Craven) Schoeneck; and brother, Robert Craven.

Funeral services are Saturday, April 30, at 11 a.m., at Yorkville Methodist Church, 17645 Old Yorkville Road, on the corner of 63rd Drive, Union Grove. Visitation will be at the church from 9-11 a.m. Miller-Reesman Funeral Home, Union Grove, is serving the family.

Memorials can either go to Yorkville Methodist Church or to the Wisconsin Humane Society, as Martha loved dogs and cats.
