Alleged belligerent woman shocked to compliance

A Burlington woman with an alleged penchant for swearing at law enforcement officers remained in Racine County Jail Monday after allegedly fleeing the Racine County Sheriff’s Department for more than four miles Saturday.

Aline Sczerzen, 47, was being held on $650 bail for two felony offenses – attempting to flee an officer and battery to an officer – as well as two misdemeanor charges of obstructing an officer and a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge. She was also given four traffic tickets.

She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 8:30 a.m. May 4.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Racine County Circuit Court on Monday, a Racine County Sheriff’s deputy radioed in Saturday that she was pulling over to aid a motorist. Moments later, the deputy asked for backup because the woman driving had allegedly become aggressive, and then fled the scene.

The deputies then chased Sczerzen for more than four miles, including through a pair of 35 mile-an-hour zones and out onto Highway 36, where she allegedly maintained speeds of about 40-45 mph.

After she finally pulled over, Sczerzen allegedly refused to comply with the two deputies’ orders, swore repeatedly, and – after the deputies tried to get her out of the car – kicked one in the chest.

Sczerzen was eventually Taser’ed, but still disobeyed the deputies until they threatened to Taser her again. She continued resisting them all the way to the squad vehicle, the complaint alleges.

  1. Congratulations for using allege, allegedly, alleges a total of six times, including in the headline. I am alleging that this may well be a record for such a short article. Allegedly, of course!
