JEAN I. AMBORN

Easter Lily      Jean I. Amborn, 88, Tomball, Texas, formerly Reedsburg, died May 8, 2016, at home with her children at her side.

She was born Oct. 13, 1927, in Waterford, to the late Clarence and Mabel Hanson.

She married Glenn Amborn on Nov. 6, 1948, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Slades Corners. She lived the majority of her married life in Burlington before moving to Reedsburg in March 1993. She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. After the children were in school she worked in retail sales at intervals throughout her life. She was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsburg.

Survivors include her children, Wayne (Carol) Amborn, Burlington, Glenda (David) Sorensen, Tomball, Texas, and Kay Amborn, Reedsburg; special friend, Lisa King, Reedsburg; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was further preceded in death by her grandsons, Jerod Weyrauch and Mark Amborn; brother, Bernard Hanson; sisters, Mildred Binning and Janet Miller.

Funeral services are Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m., at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Reedsburg, with the Rev. Paul Crolius officiating. Visitation is from 10 a.m., until time of service. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Slades Corners.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Peter’s Church. Farber Funeral Home, Reedsburg, is assisting the family.
