LEROY H. HIMEBAUCH SR.

Easter Lily      LeRoy H. ‘Buster’ Himebauch Sr., 94, Burlington, died May 12, 2016, at Lakeland Health Care Center, Elkhorn.

He was born Aug. 22, 1921, in Honey Creek, to the late William and Lorraine (Dutcher) Himebauch. He was a lifelong resident of the Burlington area, although his family moved to California for a few years during the Depression.

While in the U.S. Army, on July 4, 1943, he married Florence E. Luke in Salina, Kan. He continued his service until December 1944 in the European Theatre during World War II. Following his military service they made their home in Burlington. Florence preceded him in death on Dec. 28, 2012.

Buster was a veal farmer and a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Burlington. He loved riding his motorcycle, watching the Packers and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include his children, Elizabeth (James) Bonczkowski, Racine, LeRoy (Christine) Himebauch Jr., Delavan, William (Lynn) Himebauch, Shawano; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

He was further preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and one grandchild.

A memorial service is Monday, May 23, at 11 a.m., at Church of The Nazarene with the Rev. Terry Lemmon officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on May 23, from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church. An inurnment will take place at a later date. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory, Burlington, is serving the family.
