Barbara Ellen ‘Barb’ Saltzmann, 78, died May 15, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born April 25, 1938, on the family farm to the late William and Stella Schmidt. She was a lifelong resident of Waterford, graduating from Waterford High School.
She married the love of her life, Marvin, on Aug. 20, 1960. They remained devoted to each other until Marvin’s passing on June 13, 2013.
She was a member of The Red Hats and Norway Lutheran Church. She loved farming and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all.
Survivors include her children, JoAnn (Greg) Winski, Judy (Ken) Uhlenhake, Scott (Kim) Saltzmann, Jill Saltzmann; grandchildren, Matthew (Katelyn Dilley), Andrew, Samuel, Lucas, Melanie, Weston, Courtney, Chloe, Christopher and Morgan; great-grandchild, Reagan Grace; siblings, Betty (Don) Felton, Fran Mainus, Jim (Pam) Schmidt, Rosie (Rusty) Storm, Rick Schmidt; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was further preceded in death by two infant daughters; brother, Jerry; sister, Sharon; brothers-in-law, Eugene Saltzmann and Stan Mainus.
Visitation is Thursday, May 19, from 4-7 p.m., at Mealy Funeral Home, 225 W. Main St., Waterford. There will also be visitation on Friday, May 20, from 10-11 a.m., at Norway Lutheran Church, 6321 Heg Park Road, Wind Lake, with services beginning at 11 a.m.
In lieu of floral expressions of sympathy, the family suggests memorials to Norway Lutheran Church.
